The reliability champion.

LiftMaster Repair Services: We Fix What Others Replace

Many “installers” don’t know how to repair. They see a broken gear and tell you to buy a new $800 opener. We Repair First. Our technicians carry the internal components to rebuild your LiftMaster on-site:

Stripped Gear & Sprocket Kits:

If your motor hums but the chain doesn’t move, it’s usually a $20 plastic gear. We replace it, grease it, and save you hundreds.

Logic Board Replacement:

Works natively with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Just say, “Alexa, ask Genie to close the garage.”

RPM Sensor Failure:

If the door moves 6 inches and stops, it’s often the tachometer (RPM sensor). We replace these daily.

The "MyQ" Smart Home Advantage: Control from Anywhere

Every new LiftMaster we install comes with MyQ technology built-in.

Forgot to close the door?

Check your phone from your office in D.C. and close it with a tap.

Guest Access:

Give the dog walker or contractor a temporary code or open the door for them remotely.

Schedules:

Set your door to automatically close every night at 10 PM so it never stays open by accident.

Belt Drive vs. Chain Drive: Which LiftMaster is Right for You?

Choose BELT Drive (Model 87504) if:

Your garage is attached to the house.

There is a bedroom or nursery directly above the garage.

You want "whisper-quiet" operation.

Warranty: Lifetime on Belt and Motor.

Choose CHAIN Drive (Model 8365) if:

You have a detached garage.

You want the most economical, long-lasting option.

You don't mind the "rattle" of a chain (some people prefer hearing it so they know when someone arrives).

Warranty: Lifetime on Motor.

Our Professional Installation Process (Safety First)

Installing a LiftMaster isn’t a DIY job. It involves high-tension springs and electrical limits.

Rail Assembly:

We assemble the solid steel T-rail (not the flimsy 3-piece tube rails sold at retail stores).

Hanging the Motor:

We use 13-gauge perforated angle iron to secure the motor to your ceiling joists, ensuring zero vibration.

Safety Eye Wiring:

We run low-voltage wiring neatly, stapling it insulated to prevent shorts.

Force & Limit Setting:

We digitally calibrate the force so the door reverses if it hits a marshmallow, but pulls tight enough to seal out the wind.

Frequently Asked Questions About Genie Openers

What does it mean when the light on my LiftMaster opener flashes?

The flashes are a diagnostic code.

  • 1 Flash: Safety sensor wire disconnected.

  • 2 Flashes: Safety sensor wire shorted (touching).

  • 4 Flashes: Safety sensors misaligned (eyes not seeing each other).

  • 5 Flashes: RPM sensor or motor overheat issue. Check the sensor alignment first, as that is the most common issue.

Locate the “Learn” button on the motor head (usually Yellow, Purple, or Red/Orange).

  1. Press and release the Learn button (LED will light up).

  2. Within 30 seconds, press and hold the button on the remote you want to program.

  3. The opener lights will click/flash to confirm pairing.

This is a safety feature called Timer-to-Close or MyQ Remote Close. It warns anyone in the garage that the door is about to be closed automatically or by a user via the smartphone app.

Prices vary by model, but a professional installation generally costs between $550 and $900. This includes the motor, rail, sensors, remotes, labor, and disposal of your old unit. The Secure View (Camera) models are at the higher end.
